It seems that Ben Affleck is really applying himself to be the “tired and weary” Batman as previously revealed by Warner Bros. Chief Kevin Tsujihara. The Batman depicter sustained a shoulder injury while on set of Zack Snyders’ “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice“.

The Star reports:

“The 41-year-old was sent home from set after straining his body due to a complicated move using his left shoulder. “It was hurting him pretty bad,” a source reveals. “He’s putting his all into this role and it’s pretty physically demanding. The trips to the gym are two, sometimes three times a day and on set he’s like a machine.”

The friendly folks over at batman-news.com also included candid videos taken by onlookers on the set, showing Affleck attending to his left shoulder. The tabloid’s claim was also backed up by another clip featuring Affleck’s stunt double on set the very next day.

Plot details for the upcoming DC pic is still under wraps. Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel and Affleck’s Batman will be joined by Amy Adams who reprises her role as Lois Lane. Recent reports also tease that Jason Momoa will take on the role as Aquaman, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Cameo appearances by some members of the Justice League have also been rumored; Nightwing, Flash and Green Lantern have been mentioned so far. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set to be released on May 6, 2016.
