Warner Bros. Chief Kevin Tsujihara revealed some character details planned for the caped crusader at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2013 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference in Beverly Hills. Theguardian.com reports that Batman, who will be portrayed by Ben Affleck in “Man of Steel 2”, will not be the usual hero we have grown accustomed to. Tsujihara said the Dark Knight would be “tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile,”
Tsujihara supports Affleck as the best man for the job saying:
“Ben is perfect for the vision Zack has for that character,”
The controversies surrounding Affleck’s casting and fans general negative response is a good thing according to Tsujihara adding to his statement:
“The fact that you saw such a passionate response in the blogosphere is really kind of a testament to the love that people have for this character.”
“Man of Steel 2” will be a mash up movie, exploring the first encounter of Batman of Superman. Zack Snyder will be back at the helm with David S. Goyer as the scribe. Afleck will be joined by Henry Cavill who will reprise his role as Superman.
The anticipated sequel is expected to hit cinemas July 17, 2015.
