The Marvel rumor machine is favoring the “Dr. Strange” project as of late, with yet another report making headlines with a suggested actor for the coveted role as the titular character. With the final casting call expected to start in a month or two, recent reports mention the names of big up an coming stars that include the likes of Jared Leto, Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. While chatting with IGN about his upcoming supernatural thriller “Deliver Us from Evil”, Edgar Ramirez revealed that he is in talks to join the cast ensemble of Marvel’s “Dr. Strange”.

Ramirez revealed that he sat down with director Scott Derrickson, he cryptically said:

“We’re talking. We’ve been talking,”

IGN also emphasize that “it’s just parties talking to each other about the project right now. It doesn’t mean that Edgar Ramirez is attached, signed or committed to doing the Doctor Strange movie”

Johnny Depp and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were also among the early candidates to take on the role as Marvel’s greatest protector against magical peril, but nothing came of it. No release date has been confirmed, but movie geeks can expect production to start in spring 2015.

Ramirez can also be seen next in the “Point Break” remake, he placed Gerard Butler due to creative differences and scheduling conflicts.
