According to Schmoes Know, Sam Claflin is in talks to take on the role as FBI agent Johnny Utah in the “Point Break” Remake. “Claflin is one of many actors who has the script at this moment”, Chris Pine and Taylor Kitsch are also considered for the role. Some of you may remember Claflin in the “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, he played Finnick Odair, the victor of the 65th Hunger Games and a survivor of the 3rd Quarter Quell. Johnny Utah was previously portrayed by Keanu Reeves in the original 1991 cult classic movie, which tells the story of a FBI agent who goes undercover to catch Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) and his gang of bank robbers.

Gerard Butler is also on the list of hopefuls to take on a role in the “Point Break” Remake. The Scottish actor is reportedly in final negotiations to play the infamous bank robber Bodhi. The remake will be set in the international world of extreme sports instead of the surf scene. Director Ericson Core (“Invincible”) will helm the remake with a script from Kurt Wimmer (“Salt”, “Total Recall”). Core is also known for his cinematography work for “The Fast and the Furious”.
