The ‘Point Break’ Remake has finally found its Johnny Utah and Bodhi! “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” actor Luke Bracey and “300” star Gerard Butler has officially been cast as the lead roles in the forthcoming reboot. Bracey will take on the role as Johnny Utah, previously portrayed by Keanu Reeves in the original 1991 cult classic movie. Butler will portray Bodhi, previously played by Patrick Swayze in the Kathryn Bigelow-directed film.
The remake will be set in the international world of extreme sports instead of the surf scene, and like the original involves an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal ring. Director Ericson Core (“Invincible”) will helm the remake with a script from Kurt Wimmer (“Salt”, “Total Recall”). Core is also known for his cinematography work for “The Fast and the Furious”.
