Blogs are lighting up with casting rumors for the hotly anticipated “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. Latino-Review reports “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” actor Marton Csokas and “My Week with Marilyn” star Dougray Scott are in the crosshairs to portray Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. If successful, Csokas or Scott will be joining James Spader to vilianize the “Avengers” sequel. Spader will be taking on the role as the robotic super villain, Ultron. According to the comic books, Ultron is nearly undefeatable and one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe.

The idea of including such a formidable foe in the sequel left some unanswered questions, Director Joss Whedon did however clear the air and explained his plans for the infamous villain:

“I knew right away what I wanted to do with him,”

“He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who’s a witch.”

A secondary villain in the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron” makes perfect sense if Whedon is planning to “take away some of those powers” from the robot super villain. Strucker will be an interesting choice to include in the mix, the character is a former Nazi soldier who becomes one of the HYDRA leaders. He will join forces with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch to take the fight to our band of superheroes.

In addition to Latino Review’s report, Hit Fix have added some further information about Baron von Strucker’s potential involvement in the film:

“In “Age Of Ultron,” Baron Von Strucker is the initial threat, the guy they’re fighting at the start of the film. He does not have a major ongoing role in the film, but he is responsible for bringing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into contact with the Avengers in the first place, since they start the film working either with or or the Baron. If you look at this like a James Bond movie, Von Strucker’s the bad guy they’ll take care of in the pre-credits sequence before they move into the main story. Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch have a complicated journey in this film, and the question of whether they’re good or bad is one of the big things driving the movie overall.”

“Avengers 2″ is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2015. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson are expected to reprise their respective roles. James Spader will be taking on the role as the villainous Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen will portray Scarlet Witch, and Aaron Johnson as her twin brother Quicksilver. Don Cheadle will suit up as War Machine to join forces with “The Avengers.”

Additional rumors suggest that English actor Simon McBurney is in line to take on the role as  J.A.R.V.I.S., “Not a computer voice Jarvis, mind you, but an actual Butler called Jarvis”.
