Big casting news made the headlines this week with the announcement that Israeli actress/model Gal Gadot will take on the role as Wonder Woman in the hotly anticipated “Man of Steel” sequel. Aside from the Wonder Woman casting, Collider.com suggests that Callan Mulvey (“300: Rise of an Empire”) is eyed to villainize the upcoming Superman and Batman crossover movie.

Variety mentioned that Callan Mulvey is “someone Warner Bros. is eyeing”

Collider also mentioned via a source that Doomsday might be the main bad guy to shake things up for the DC heroes, will Mulvey take on this role if successful? For those of you not in the know, check out Doomsday’s description:

“In the comics, Doomsday is basically a force of nature.  His origins lie in prehistoric Krypton, where he was left to fend for himself as a humanoid infant by an alien scientist.  After being repeatedly killed by the harsh Krypton environment, the scientist continued to clone his genes until Doomsday became an evolutionarily perfect killing machine.”

Variety’s also reports there will be cameo appearances by the Justice League. Dick Grayson or Nightwing and The Flash are expected to appear in the film along with Lex Luthor, but no official announcement has been made. The project is really taking shape with many surprises and twists. Casting announcement for Lex Luther and Nightwing have not been confirmed to support any rumors making the rounds at the moment. The Plotline for the movie is still under wraps with no real indication of what to expect. The only tit bit was from Warner Bros. producer Daniel Alter, revealing that a semi-retired Bruce Wayne might be using robots to assist him.

Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, while Ben Affleck is suiting up to take on the role as the Dark Knight for the first time. “Man of Steel 2” is set to be released on July 17, 2015.
