Since Marvel dropped the big announcements at Comic-Con that the formidable Ultron will be the main villain to face-off against our favorite team of heroes, many rumors and plot suggestions have come to pass. “Ant-Man” who created Ultron will not make an appearance and “Vision”, who betrayed his programming and helped “The Avengers” to defeat the mighty Ultron, his creator has also been ruled out. Fans hoping to see Loki and Thanos in action was disappointed to hear they were excluded from the sequel as well.

Ultron (1)

In 2009, Ultron was ranked as IGN’s 23rd Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.

Taking all that in to consideration and given the fact that Ultron is probably the strongest and most powerful villain in the Marvel universe, fans are extremely interested to see what is in store for “Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron“. Director Joss Whedon has finally revealed to Entertainment Weekly what will be in store for the robotic super villain:

“I knew right away what I wanted to do with him,”

“He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who’s a witch.”

Whedon adds:

“As a character I love [Ultron],” “because he’s so pissed off.”

Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, who was said to be director Joss Whedon’s top choice to portray Scarlet Witch, has passed on the opportunity. Whedon and Marvel have reportedly set their sights on Elizabeth Olsen for the coveted role.
