Wonder Woman fans rejoice! We will finally see the Amazonian Goddess on the big screen. The wait has been excruciatingly long, and after who knows how many attempts to get Wonder Woman onto film, we can now finally put a face/actor to the powerful Wonder Woman.
Warner Bros. and Director Zack Snyder have cast Fast and Furious actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman Vs. Superman. She will join Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck in the highly anticipated superhero film. Snyder had this to say to Deadline about Gadot landing the role,
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
She definitely has the looks, and the jaw-bone, but needs to bulk up a bit. Sadly Alexandra Daddario who would have been a great choice is going to have to keep dreaming. Here’s a few images of the new Wonder Woman.
Lastly, this is what she needs to look like (By Artist jeffach):

Let’s hope she (Gadot) does her best in the role of ‘Wonder Woman’. That said, I’ve been surfing through sites and images on the legendary Amazon goddess/superhero, and there’s a lot of people out there who seem to think that if a character or movie flops, it’s the actor playing the character that is responsible. Not true!
A film is a collaborative enterprise, and the director and writer(s) are probably more to blame if a movie crashes. I hope the writers remember that not only is Wonder Woman a super hot, shining example of female physical fitness and beauty (at least, the Western notion of beauty), as well as superhuman strength, she’s also got a very sensitive, nurturing, maternal as well as sisterly side to her.
If they don’t portray this dichotomy, this irony, this complexity, then any movie with everybody’s favorite super heroine will indeed flop. Unfortunately, since she’s not in her own movie and sharing the screen with two other icons of the superhero genre, it’s unlikely they will portray the above mentioned complexity and nuance of the character.
Oh and, without at least some allusion to fantastic sexuality and perhaps a little captive bondage (Wonder Woman with torn outfit in chains), it definitely won’t work! :)
