“Man of Steel 2” is expected to kick-off production this weekend with the filming of a football game scene, during the school’s real Husky football game at the Weingart stadium on October 19. According to East Los Angeles College Campus News, the stadium will be transformed into Gotham City University home stadium during the halftime break. Unfortunately the report doesn’t confirm if Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck) will make an appearance.
This is insane, imagine being part of the experience! ELAC students interested to take part in the production will have an opportunity to be selected by the filmmakers. The first 2,000 “extras” who will be sitting in the filming area of the stadium will receive black and gold outfits to wear (designed by director Zack Snyder!) to cheer on the fictional team of Gotham City.
ELAC’s College event and Venue Coordinator, Ernest Burnett said Snyder decided to use ELAC’s stadium to support ELAC and the community:
“They could have done this on a night when we didn’t have a home game. They wanted to support the school,” Burnett said.
The hotly anticipated sequel to “Man of Steel” is due to storm theatres on July 17, 2015.
