Bring Me The Horizon is back with some fresh material for their latest album scheduled to be released on 11 September. The tracks released so far for their new record titled “That’s The Spirit”, is not agreeing with hardcore fans who are shooting down their “new sound” as being “too soft”. Some might agree that BMTH is selling out by taking this approach, but we can’t deny them the opportunity to grow as artists and experiment with their sound while pushing them in a slightly different direction.

We have their latest music video available for viewing pleasure, and it is as disturbing as their first release for the new album. Titled “Throne”, BMTH stick to their low key approach and spins out something  more electronic and radio friendly than most of their past productions. The new single has a “Linkin Park” feel to it as the drums beat down the track at an even mid-tempo pace, with no screams and catchy lyrics. The music video directed by Oliver Sykes & Plastic Kid has already raked in over 1,6 million views.

2013’s Sempiternal debuted in the United Kingdom at number 3 on the album chart and number 1 on the rock chart with a over 9,000 copies sold in its first week. In the US, projections of the album selling between 24,000 and 27,000 in its first week were confirmed as it sold over 27,000- achieving a place of number 11 on the Billboard 200. BMTH is now a well-know player among the big guns for releasing one of best albums to date. “That’s The Spirit” will clearly be something different if their first singles form the new album is anything to go by. Even though Sempiternal was a smash hit, any form of  replication of that sound would have felt like a cheap imitation or a quick hand at raking in more money to ride the wave of the success of a surprise hit album. Let’s see how the new album pans out because so far it is sounding pretty cool!

Check out the lyrics:

Remember the moment
You left me alone and
Broke every promise you ever made
I was an ocean
Lost in the open
Nothing could take the pain away
So you can throw me to the wolves
Tomorrow I will come back
Leader of the whole pack
Beat me black and blue
Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne
The sticks and the stones that
You used to throw have
Built me an empire
So don’t even try
To cry me a river
Cos’ I forgive you
You are the reason I still fight
I’ll leave you choking
On every word you left unspoken
Rebuild all that you’ve broken
And now you know
Every wound will shape me
Every scar will build my throne
