The spirit of adventure and confusion is very much alive with the first official promo released for FXX’s wildly popular “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia“. I have missed the gang and all their shenanigans and can’t wait for the 10th season to kick-off. Titled “Blaze of Glory”, the gang can be seen preparing for what looks like a trip in to outer space. Charlie (Charlie Day), Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito) are sporting yellow space suits while they walk through a group of people toward a space shuttle. Among the cheering fans we can see all our favorite characters from the show standing by to see them off. The waitress is drunk again while Mac’s mom is unsure why she’s there, and the lawyer seems thrilled about the ill planned trip for his worst customers. As soon as they board the shuttle, they realize that their trip will be a hair-raising experience, instead a fun-filled adventure. It turns out the space shuttle is not a spaceship or rocket at all, it’s actually a cannon!
When FX renewed the show for an eighth and ninth season back in 2011, “Always Sunny” became the longest-running live action sitcom on basic cable. FX announced a three-year overall production deal between FX Productions and RCG Productions, that includes a two-season renewal that will run through till 2017. So yes, with season 10 on the way in January, we have much to look forward to!
