Nicki Minaj’s breaks another record with her “Anaconda” Music Video. Last month, Minaj teased fans on Twitter with a special “surprise” which turned out to be the controversial cover art revealing her curves for her lasts single, “Anaconda”. The fan hype, controversy and nakedness sure paid off for the Young Money rapper who steered the campaign for the music video to huge success.

Her “Anaconda” music video officially broke Vevo’s record for the most views in 24 hours, on Friday, August 22.  The clip featuring some heavy twerking racked in 19.6 million clicks on the first day of its release, beating Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” which previously held the record with 19.3 million views. Minaj also previously held the top spot with the most views in October 2012, with her collaboration with Justin Bieber for “Beauty and a Beat”. She broke the record with 10.6 million video views and also scored 4.8 million plays In January 2012 for “Stupid Hoe”.

Minaj took to Instagram to share the exciting news, she wrote:

“WE BROKE THE RECORD BABY!!!!! Anaconda Video 19.6 million views in 24 hrs!!!!”

“Anaconda” features on Minaj’s latest album, “The Pink Print”. On May 21, she released the first official single off “The Pink Print,” revealing that her new work is based on true events.

She tweeted:

“It’s a true story. The entire album is a true f#&king story. It’s time,”

She told Billboard:

“It sounds like betrayal. It sounds like running. It sounds like fainting. It sounds like love. It sounds like… *gasp!*”
