The rumor box let loose some saucy news last year that Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner will share the screen for the upcoming “Bourne 5”. The report was however debunked and the hopes and dreams of seeing Damon back as one of our favorite killing machines was laid to rest…..until now! It is no secret that producer Frank Marshall is keen to see Matt and Jeremy team up for the fifth installment. He said in an interview once:

“You see there are several different programmes in the movie with different skill sets. All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up.”

Damon has always been transparent about his intentions and requirements to reprise his role as Jason Bourne. The “Bourne” Star revealed in an interview back in October 2012 that he will pursue sequels beyond the original trilogy only if helmer Paul Greengrass is involved:

“I’ve always been open to it as long as Paul Greengrass directs, I don’t think he’s going to do it.”

Damon reveals in a recent interview with CNBC, the biggest stumbling block preventing his return is a good script idea:

“We’ve just never been able to come up with a story. So, if any of your viewers have a story, please call Universal and submit it.”

Damon is curious to see what the character was up to since the last time he was seen on the big screen:

“It felt like such a good way to end it the last time, but having said that I love that character…and I’d love to see what happened to him. Because technically, the movie that came out in 2007 dovetailed with the one that came out in 2004, so technically the last time Jason Bourne was seen was 2004.”

Who could have predicted that a seemingly “dorky” but extremely talented actor that gave us a memorable performance in “Good Will Hunting” and “Dogma” will be able to portray one of the most bad ass super spies to date? Damon also revealed that even he was a bit skeptical about his abilities to portray an action character, he says:

“I had just as many concerns as anybody about doing an action move. In fact, I never signed up for three ‘Bourne’ movies. I signed up for one because I didn’t even know if I’d like to make an action movie…but it turned out that I loved it.”

Universal Pictures has officially confirmed that the action spy film is set to be released in summer 2015. Any “Bourne” fans out there excited of the possibility to see Damon and Renner teaming up
