It is official, “Beverly Hills Cop IV” is moving forward! Reports published late last year confirmed that Eddie Murphy is expected to reprise his role as Detective Axel Foley in the (then) unconfirmed “Beverly Hills Cop IV”  sequel. The fourth installment has been trapped in development hell since forever, CBS even considered working with Murphy on a “buddy cop” project to adapt to small screen but that also did not come to fruition.

Now, Deadline reports that Brett Ratner is attached to helm the project based on the script by Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec (scribes for “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”). The ongoing rumors suggesting that Jerry Bruckheimer is back as producer is spot on! Bruckheimer’s involvement in producing the first two installments is considered one of the main reasons why the franchise excelled. The third pic panned horribly and was mainly criticized for the exclusion of key characters and the absence of Bruckheimer and producer Don Simpson. Strap in geeks, Paramount set a March 25, 2016 release date.
