It is rumored that Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of the first two installments of “Beverly Hills Cop”, is on board to produce “Beverly Hills Cop IV”. Variety.com confirms that Eddie Murphy will be expected to reprise his role as Detective Axel Foley.

CBS was working with Murphy on a “buddy cop” project to adapt the popular Movie franchise to series, however the idea was later dropped. This lead the Hollywood star to work on a new feature film instead. Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec (scribes for “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”) are on-board to pen the script.
