Judi Dench is eyed to take on the role as Mon Mothma, the co-founder and leader of the Rebel Alliance in the ‘Star Wars Episode 7’. This is yet another rumor that circles the cast ensemble for the much anticipated film. Mon Mothma first made an appearance in 1983’s Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi”, portrayed by Caroline Blakistona. The character was also seen in “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith”, played by Genevieve O’Reilly, and on the animated TV series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, voiced by Kath Soucie.
Director J. J. Abrams is currently writing the script with Lawrence Kasdan after Arndt bowed out of the project. Arndt wrote a story that focused on the offspring of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), with the original stars placed in the side roles, but Abrams didn’t approve of that going forward.
The storyline has not been revealed yet, but recent developments suggest that the seventh installment will continue with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia at its centre. “Episode 7″ is set to be released on December 18, 2015. “Episode 8″ is to follow in 2017 and “Episode 9″ in 2019. The rumored Han Solo and Boba Fett origin stories will be released between the entries.
