Edward Norton remains a huge favorite here at GeekShizzle. Some of our best movie memories comes from movies he starred in. From his first Oscar nominated performance in Primal Fear, to his fantastic role as the white power skinhead in American History X, to his no-named character in Fight Club (Tyler Durden?). You have to admit that Edward Norton is an amazing actor.
The question is, what happened to Edward Norton? The last movie I can remember seeing him in was ‘The Bourne Legacy‘ (2012) which was hardly a leading role. Then there was that random episode in “Modern Family” where he played the has-been rocker Izzy LaFontaine? He also played a short role in the latest Lonely Island video.
Unless you were seriously paying attention to his life you would have thought he dropped from the face of the planet!
Well, the truth is he may have put the brakes on his acting career, but he is very much active in directing, producing and as a environmental and social activist. He is a member of the board of trustees of Enterprise Community Partners, a non-profit organization for developing affordable housing. Norton is president of the American branch of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. He also raises money for charity through Crowdrise, a social networking community for volunteers and and micro-donations fundraising platform.
As for the last 3 years, he became engaged to Canadian film producer Shauna Robertson in 2011, and they married in 2012. They have one son, born in March 2013.
All we really want is to see him on the big screen again! Here is a list of movie project’s he’s been busy with over the last few years:
- The Simpsons (TV Series) as Reverend Elijah Hooper / Devon Bradley – Voice (2013)
- Salinger (2013)
- The Bourne Legacy as Col Eric Byer (2012)
- All in for the 99% (2012)
- Moonrise Kingdom as Scout Master Ward (2012)
- Stone as Gerald ‘Stone’ Creeson (2010)
- Modern Family (TV Series) as Izzy LaFontaine (2009)
- Leaves of Grass as Bill Kincaid / Brady Kincaid (2009)

“Brian [Koppelman] and David [Levien], who wrote the first one, have an idea for it, and we’ve been talking to Harvey Weinstein about maybe doing it, because Edward Norton wants to do it, I want to do it, and our director John Dahl, he’d love to do it,” Damon told us. “So we’re like, ‘Why don’t we just get everybody together and go do it, you know?'”
