League of Legends World Championships 2013

The quarter final stages of the worlds biggest eSports event, the League of Legends World Championships 2013 are over, and only two teams remain. For more info on the event, and to get an idea on how big this is, check here. The quarter finals took place between Gamania Bears and SK Telekom, where SK Telekom ended on top with a 2-0 win. Gambit BenQ faced off against Naijin Black Sword in the second quarter final where they scraped through on a tie break. The third Quarter final was between the first and second seeded Royal Club and OMG. Player Zi hao “Uzi” Jian almost single-handedly handed them the victory with some absolutely brilliant-never-say-die game play. Here’s a recap of how these teams made it to the quarter finals.

The last quarter final was played between FNatic and Cloud 9, where FNatic came out top with a 2-1 victory. This set the stage for some pretty intense semi finals which is decided best out of 5 games.

In semi final one SK Telekom T1 came out as winners, securing their position in the final. It was an extremely tense battle between the two Korean teams. Player Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok playing exceptionally well.

Semi final two was decided in 4 games, where Royal Club took it 3-1,dominating nearly every aspect of the game. FNatic put up a great fight though, and had a few things gone their way, this could have been a very different result.
