Mark your calendars geeks, Tom Hardy’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” looks crazy awesome with the release of the theatrical teaser trailer for the upcoming reboot. Action packed car chase scenes and huge explosions are featured in all its glory out in a desert landscape setting reminiscent of Gearbox’s “Borderlands”. The characters in the post-apocalyptic world looks worthy of the reboot, and the battle vehicles are holding up the name of the franchise as well.

Hardy takes on the role as the titular character previously played by Mel Gibson who starred in the original 1979 movie. Max returns as a man seeking peace following the loss of his wife and child, while Charlize Theron plays Furiosa, a woman who aims to survive by trekking across the desert back to her homeland. Hardy and Theron is joined by Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw. Mad Max: Fury Road is set to be released on May 15, 2015.

“Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
“Mad Max: Fury Road”—the fourth in the franchise’s history—stars Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) in the title role, alongside Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) as the Imperator, Furiosa. The cast is rounded out by well-known Australian actors John Howard and Richard Carter, supermodel Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.
