“Rambo 5” is officially coming to big screens according to the star of the franchise, Sylvester Stallone. In a recent interview with Vulture, Stallone shared the exciting news that he is in the process of getting ready for the fifth installment since “The Expendables 3” has wrapped up production.

He said:

“I’m getting ready for [‘Rambo 5’]. I’m starting to work out,”

“I’m going to be appropriately vicious and all that stuff, but intellectual. A killer with a heart. Smart, yet stupid. Tall, yet short. Broad, but thin. You know what I mean. We’re going to try to cover all the boundaries.”

2008’s “Rambo” shows more kills than in any of the other flicks in the series – 236

It is no secret that Stallone is keen to breathe new life into the cult classic action movie franchise. The 68-year-old action movie veteran repeatedly expresses his intentions to revive the franchise and his iconic character since the fourth Installment was released in 2008. Reports late last year suggested that Entertainment One has completed a co-development deal with Avi Lerner and Nu Image to develop and produce a TV series based on David Morrell novel “First Blood”.

The plot for the upcoming movie is delightfully predictable, considering we want to see Sly back in an action packed old school Rambo sequel. John Rambo is expected to take on a Mexican cartel in a kill or be killed fifth installment described by Sly as “his version of No Country for Old Men.” Count us in!

Sylvester Stallone’s “Rambo” is not the only iconic franchise receiving a refresher. Recent reports reveal that the “Rocky” spin-off “Creed” is still in the works with Michael B. Jordan tapped to portray a boxer trained by Sly’s Rocky Balboa. Stallone’s action packed “The Expendables 3” is expected to be released on 15 August 2014.
