In recent years Sylvester Stallone repeatedly expresses his intentions to revive the “Rambo” franchise and character. Fans will be delighted to hear that Entertainment One has completed a co-development deal with Avi Lerner and Nu Image to develop and produce a TV series based on David Morrell novel First Blood.

“Rambo: First Blood Part 2” is the most successful in the franchise grossing $300 million worldwide

Adding to the exciting news, Sylvester Stallone, who starred in the “Rambo” film franchise is in talks to reprise his role as John Rambo. Based on the success of the “The Expendables”  with Stallone serving as co-writer and director, it is no surprise that he wants to be involved on a creative level. The 2008 “Rambo, starring Stallone who also directed and co-written the story, received mixed reviews from the critics, however the action film still grossed $113,2 million worldwide.

The super production houses will be shopping for potential networks once development has been completed

Lerner expressed his excitement to be onboard:

“I’m happy to be partnering with a prolific company like Entertainment One who has a track record of creating high quality programming for their broadcast partners around the world,”

“And I’m excited by the prospect of collaborating again with my good friend Sly for an encore in this next phase of the Rambo legacy.”

Stallone can be seen next in the “Escape Plan” with co-star Arnold Schwartzenegger, due to be released October 18, 2013.
