Series co-creator Ryan Murphy recently hired the world’s smallest woman Jyoti Amge to officially join the cast ensemble for “American Horror Story: Freak Show“. Standing boldly at only 2 ft 0.6 in (62.8 cm), Amge was officially declared the world’s smallest woman by the Guinness Book of Records on her 18th birthday, December 16, 2011. She has a condition called Achondroplasia which restricts growth, but it will most definitely not stop her to reach for the stars!

Murphy made the casting announcement via Twitter by posting a photo of Jessica Lange with her new co-star on Wednesday, August 13.

He captioned the pic:

“Jessica and our newest cast member Jyoti Amge…the world’s smallest woman,”

In related casting news, Grammy-winning singer Patti LaBelle also joined “Freakshow” as the mother of Gabourey Sidibe’s character. Sarah Paulson will be “duplicated” using a mix of practical physical effects make-up and CGI, to bring to live her character with two heads! She will take on the roles of Dot and Bettie, conjoined twins joining the freak show. Michael Chiklis will play a strong man who was married to Bassett’s character, and Lange will be playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S. The storyline is still kept under wraps, but we know at least that the “carnival” themed fourth season will be set in the 1950’s.

Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy all play performers whom Lange’s character has rescued. Freak Show’s 13 episodes will track this group as they do anything to keep their business around. The “Freak Show” is heading our way this October on FX.
