The new trailer for HBO’s hotly anticipated final season of its period drama, “Boardwalk Empire” has arrived. The clip features some upcoming events and incidents planned for season 5, with scenes teasing revenge and bloodshed to keep the territories. Capone has finally reached the top of the criminal food chain, while Luciano is proving to be a promising up-and-comer after failing to impress in previous seasons.
He says in the opening scene of the clip:
“There are better ways of doing things. Run it like a business. It’s about all of us working together.“

Despite the trying times, Nucky and Bacardi are keen to distribute liquor once the Prohibition gets repealed. Will the legitimate liquor trade prove to be more fruitful in the days of a post bootlegging war, or will we see the same goons turning tricks to get ahead of the curve? It seems unlikely that Nucky will be able to get some piece without a fight. He makes a death threat to someone over the phone, saying, “I will not rest until I see you in your graves.” Bloodshed, intimidation and desperation kept the booze trade afloat for far too long; will we see a finale with no mobster standing at the end of it all?
The critically acclaimed crime and period drama series will be set during the great depression when all the glitz and glamour of their glory years will be long forgotten. The final season will flash forward seven years when “the days of the shiny shoes and fancy suits are long gone”.
The fifth and final season will premiere Sunday, September 7 at 9/8c on HBO.
