Fans are still bracing themselves for the big reveal at the end of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ which is promising to be a series shocker. In the meantime, series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are teaming up with Emily Spivey to pen the script for the “HIMYM” spin-off, “How I Met Your Dad”. Casting announcements for the spin-off series are also coming along nicely with the “Workaholics” co-creator Anders Holm confirmed to take on the role as “Gavin, the soon-to-be ex-husband of the sitcom’s leading lady Sally, played by Greta Gerwig”, according to eonline.com.

Nick D’Agosto (Heroes, Masters of Sex) will play Frank, Juliet’s hot nerd of a co-worker, while Andrew Santino will play Danny, Sally’s older brother and Todd’s husband, though HIMYD is in second position to his ABC sitcom, Mixology, which has not yet been picked up for next season.”

Gerwig said in an interview with E-Online that we are in for an excellent show which shares the same qualities that made the original famous:
