The Baron Wolfgang von Strucker depicter Thomas Kretschmann will have a bright future beyond the “Avengers” sequel according to latest reports. The 51-year-old “Dracula” star has reportedly signed a multi-pic deal with Marvel to reprise his role as the villainous “Baron Wolfgang von Strucker” in the Marvel cinematic universe.  Kretschmann was officially cast in January this year as the former Nazi soldier who becomes one of the HYDRA leaders.

He reveals where his character might end up next. He says:

“That’s great of course, I have a multi-picture deal which means I will not only appear in the 2nd part, but they’re planning with me for a longer period of time. But I don’t know details yet, they’re keeping their cards close to their chest – top secret!”

He says of his first day on set:

“Oh yes, I was nervous.”

“I was overprepared; then on the set I went up to Joss Whedon, who passes for a genius, and said ‘this is my first day, this is huge, please have patience with me, I’m a bit nervous.’ “

Director Joss Whedon explained his plans for the infamous villain back in December:

“In ‘Age Of Ultron,’ Baron Von Strucker is the initial threat, the guy they’re fighting at the start of the film. He does not have a major ongoing role in the film, but he is responsible for bringing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into contact with the Avengers in the first place, since they start the film working either with or or the Baron. If you look at this like a James Bond movie, Von Strucker’s the bad guy they’ll take care of in the pre-credits sequence before they move into the main story. Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch have a complicated journey in this film, and the question of whether they’re good or bad is one of the big things driving the movie overall.”

“Avengers 2″ is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2015. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson are expected to reprise their respective roles. James Spader will be taking on the role as the villainous Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen will portray Scarlet Witch, and Aaron Johnson as her twin brother Quicksilver. Don Cheadle will suit up as War Machine to join forces with “The Avengers.” Additional rumors suggest that English actor Simon McBurney is in line to take on the role as  J.A.R.V.I.S., “Not a computer voice Jarvis, mind you, but an actual Butler called Jarvis”.
