GeekShizzle has been keeping tabs on the RobCop reboot for a while now. It has been over 20 years since Paul Verhoeven released the cult classic Robocop back in 1987. “With RoboCop, I couldn’t be happier because it’s such a quality director. He’s a young master. I don’t know if you’ve seen Elite Squad 1 and 2, but if you haven’t, you really should see them. They’re quite incredible. So, he’s a very smart man who’s going to do a very smart movie. If you’ve seen those movies, you know he can portray action.”

The idea of another attempt to bring to life on of the most iconic monster movies in history wasn’t really at the top our list of things to be excited about. The fear of another disappointing attempt to reboot the franchise left us feeling it will be better to let things be than go through another Roland Emmerich type film which failed dismally in 1998. Come to think if it, that should be the main reason to remake this film, provided you have the right people with the vision and passion to pay homage to our favorite city destroyer.
We believe that “Godzilla 2014” director Gareth Edwards is the right man for the job, he spoke with Shock Till You Drop back in 2011 and gave some insight regarding his vision for the film moving forward:
“I’m a big fan,” ”I guess I will say I’m highly aware – and everyone involved is incredibly aware – of everyone’s opinions on what this film has to do and what it has to be. And no one will do anything but the right thing. Without addressing anything specific, everyone knows how important is to get it right.”
The trailer released really showcases his vision to “get it right”! Check out the first official trailer for Godzilla!
The film stars Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe and Aaron Johnson to name a few.
“An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence”

Some good movies coming down the pike. Can’t wait for Noah and Exodus. They both look so dope. I like Jolie for the evil godmother in Maleficent but I’d prefer Olivia Wilde instead. She looks more the part. Nolan’s Interstellar sounds intriguing and X-Men: Days of Future Past looks amazing. There are some worth skipping but there’s also a lot to look forward to.
You have to admit the bible has some EPIC stories in it. Noah and Exodus has the potential to be huge hits. They have the cast!
Anything you’d add to the list?
Totally agree. The Bible has a lot of incredible stories. I’m glad they’re updating some of the old classics like Charlton Heston’s The Ten Commandments with Christian Bale doing Exodus. Heston’s version is great. There’s a lot that’s already been done like the “Rapture” in Revelation and the film from the book of Esther called “One Night With The King” but I’d definitely add some to the list TF…
The story of Daniel, the story of David, the story of Paul because he ended up writing two-thirds of the New Testament, the story of Joshua, and the story of Gideon.
Those five would be amazing to see in my book but there’s so much more because all of the Bible is chock full of wisdom and life lessons.
Angelina Jolie doesn’t play the evil fairy godmother, she plays the evil stepmother! JEES!!!
Thanks Dean. She is also a fairy and a witch. I think the movie will be a major hit or miss.
Top 3 films i WILL see in theaters
#2. X-Men: DOFP
Godzilla deserves a proper Reboot after Roland Emmerich’s Jurassic park rip-off that turned him into a Iguana that eats fish instead of the Force of Nature/Embodiment of Nuclear War he is supposed to be.
I hope this attempt shows Godzilla’s true potential in American cinema’s.
I was really skeptical when early reports suggested they are remaking Godzilla. The trailer looks amazing! Hopefully we will not be disappointed, director Gareth Edwards seems to be on the right path.
love ridley scott and bale but woah, a remake of the ten commandments??? though to beat the charlton heston yule bender version. i notice they are even avoiding calling it the 10 commandments.
Don’t forgot Maze Runner! :)
Hey Lily, I see the trailer for “The Maze Runner” has been released. It looks really awesome! http://geekshizzle.com/2014/03/24/first-trailer-maze-runner-starring-dylan-obrien/
I HAVE 5 FILMS ILL BE SEEING EXODUS, FURY, NOAH, SIN CITY. AN 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE. I DO SO WISH THE CREW FROM SPARTACUS WAS IN 300. THATS OK, CAUSE ILL STILL ENJOY. IM FEMALE AN I JUST LOVE THIS KIND OF MOVIE, CANT WAIT
Andy Whitfield would have been perfect for the ‘300’ style movies. Sadly he passed away and was replaced by Liam McIntyre. It took a while for me to adjust but he did a stellar job by replacing Whitfield. Characters Gannicus, Crixus, Oenomaus and Agron would have been awesome additions as well.
Was such a loss too he was an amazing actor and person
I love the fact that so many of these movies are comic book adaptions. Makes me excited for the future
Who is waiting for the robocop remake?
Bring it on, I can’t wait for the Robocop remake!
No Mention Of The Raid 2?! That Movie Will Have Better Action Than Half Of These Movies! Too Brutal For Them I Guess
Hey James. I posted the first trailer and a quick overview of early reviews fresh from Sundance last month. The Raid 2 is definitely for the fan boys! The second installment is a very hard R-Rated blood, guts and glory film. You are absolutely right, it will not be everyone’s cup of tea. Check out the link:.
No mention of the legend of conan
