Sony Pictures has released an extended trailer for “The Monuments Men”. The film directed by George Clooney, is based on the book “The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History” by Robert M. Edsel. The story will focus on the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives program and the World War II platoon, tasked by the FDR to secure pieces of art and other culturally important items from Nazi thieves.
The extended trailer follows George Stout as he prepares for the enormous task of protecting the finest art treasures from Nazis during World War II. Stout is recruiting people for the team while the sneak-peek video feature moments where the new recruits build rapport while carrying out the mission.
This is a must see from the little we know so far. Tasked with an impossible mission behind enemy lines whist risking their lives to secure the treasures, the Monuments Men will face their greatest challenge yet.
In additon to directing and starring in it, Clooney wrote the script and produced it along with Grant Heslov. The film is supported by Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville and Bob Balaban.
Co-produced by Columbia Pictures/20th Century Fox and 22. Babelsberg, the film is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2013.
