Elizabeth Olsen recently discussed her upcoming role as Scarlet Witch and how she is discovering the world of comic books. Elizabeth is better known as the younger sister of the twin actresses Mary-Kate and Ashley. She has come a far way over the past couple of years, landing big roles in Godzilla and Spike Lee’s ‘Oldboy’ remake. She has reason to be excited about her role in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, Scarlet Witch is without a doubt one of the coolest characters in the marvel universe. The Marvel character’s family dynamics alone will add a couple of twists with daddy Magneto as the head of the table and being the twin sister of Quicksilver.

Elizabeth recently spent time with director Joss Whedon and she is busy with research and preparation to understand the Marvel character she needs to portray.

She told Moviefone:

“I hung out with Mr. Whedon recently. I’m really excited about this movie. I’m so excited about Scarlet Witch. I have had so much fun reading all about her and I am like learning new words that I had to look up on Wikipedia. I’m really enjoying it.”

When asked if she read comic books before she was cast as Scarlet Witch:

“No, I never read comic books. Comic books was always my brother’s thing and he collected comic books every week of his life since he was 7. So he is who I go to when I have meetings about things that have to do with comic books. And now I’m going to know a little bit more about it, about my brother and about the world.”

Her most exciting thing about “Avengers 2”?

“I just love Scarlet Witch. I love her. It’s so funny because I’m often talking about all these psychologically damaged people, but when you talk about Scarlet Witch … She is a messed up lady. She has got more sh-t to deal with than anybody else I know. I’m excited to figure out what’s appropriate to use for her, because there’s so much material from all of these decades, and we’re going to tell this one story. So to be able to choose what you’re going to bring into it from all of this abundance, it’s really fun.”

She also had an interview with Ain’t it Cool revealing her interest in the character she will play:

“She’s nuts, she’s crazy. She has more things wrong with her than any character I’ve ever played. She can tell you where an object has been, she can tell you what your future is, she can connect with the dead and people from other universes, and she’s the only person in this universe who’s capable of doing that. She’s unbelievable; it’s so cool. I grew up loving ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Lord of the Rings,’ and anything that has this other type of world or universe to it is so fun.”

Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner are all back to reprise their respective roles.  New comer “Kick-Ass” actor Aaron Johnson will portray Quicksilver. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is set to be released on May 1, 2015
