“Fifty Shades of Grey” has finally found its leading man in Jamie Dornan who has been officially cast as the wealthy young entrepreneur Christian Grey. Dornan is better known for playing Axel von Fersen in Sofia Coppola’s film “Marie Antoinette”. Variety.com reports that the book’s author E.L. James shared the news on Wednesday, October 23.

The producers were frantically searching for a new leading man for the raunchy film since Charlie Hannan quit due to creative differences. Patrick Marber was recently hired to assist with the script.

The internet was flooded with rumors claiming that Francois Arnaud, Billy Magnussen, Luke Bracey, Theo James, Christian Cooke and Scott Eastwood were in the running to snatch the coveted role.

Dakota Johnson is still attached to play the love interest of the bondage-loving Mr.Grey. Johnson will portray Anastasia Steele, a naive college student who enters an S&M relationship with the wealthy businessman. Johnson and Hannan was under fire when fans of the record selling novel launched a petition soon after the casting announcement. Fans are insisting that Matthew Bomer and Alexis Bledel should be the leading pair.

Production dates for the film has not been affected due to the slight delay replacing Hannan. The big screen adaptation of the sexy Novel will still kick-off in November as planned.
