Since the announcement that Ben Affleck will be the “Caped Crusader” fans have been up in arms about the decision. Affleck was officially announced as the new Bruce Wayne depicter on Thursday, August 22. Unhappy fans have sent a petition to Warner Bros. to show their dissatisfaction for the future Batman depicter.
Despite some fans’ disapproval, Val Kilmer and Joss Whedon have given their full support for the “Daredevil” actor to take on the role as Gotham’s finest. Val Kilmer is very familiar with the character who suited up in the 1995 “Batman Forever, tweeted a message of support:
“Give Ben a chance!”
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” Director Joss Whedon, also believes Affleck is the right man for the job:
“Affleck’ll crush it,”
“He’s got the chops, he’s got the chin — just needs the material,”
“Affleck & Cavill toe to toe — I’m in.”
Warner Bros. president of creative development and worldwide production Greg Silverman is convinced that Affleck is fit to wear the cape:
“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill,”
