The last time we checked in on the anticipated ‘Bond 24′ project, the studio was aiming to go old school with the inclusion of a huge villain like Jaws. It has been embraced with great enthusiasm by 007 fans, but we have received no confirmation to state that the rumors are true. In August we learned that a physically intimidating villainous henchman will face-off against Daniel Craig’s Bond, and finally a new report emerges to add to the corridor talks.
Rumor: Dave Bautista Cast as Henchman in ‘Bond 24’
Let’s start by analysing the casting call description revealed by MI6 HQ. The villainous character must be large, physically fit, someone 30-45 years old, over 6’2″ tall and someone “unusual” to play a character named Hinx. Latino-Review recently unleashed some hot news claiming that former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista has been cast in the coveted role. Bautista’s portrayal of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s awesome space epic “Galaxy of the Guardians” immediately separated him from his previous acting roles, and created a brand new path for his Hollywood career. Recent reports also claim that Big Dave will appear in Marvel’s “The Avengers 3”, linking in Drax the Destroyer in a very ‘significant role’. He would be perfect!
MI6 HQ had the following to say about the casting for ‘Hinx’:
“Casting has begun for the main assassin, with the search specifically focussed on someone extremely physically fit and over 6′ 2″. Whoever wins the role will have several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film and also a driving sequence. Former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone ‘very unusual’. The character has the working name of ‘Hinx’ (which may change before shooting starts) and is said to be between 30 and 45 years old. The goal is to find the next Jaws or Oddjob – a henchman so different to anything that has gone before that they will become instantly iconic in the film series.”
“Skyfall” helmer Sam Mendes is back in the director’s chair for “Bond 24”. Daniel Craig returns as the iconic Agent 007, Ben Whishaw reprises his role as Q, and Ralph Fiennes is back as M. The latest installment is set to be released on November 6, 2015.
