Professional mixed martial artist and WWE wrestlers Dave Bautista is rumored to take on a significant role in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” sequel. According to wrestling site PWMania, Bautista is expected to reprise his role as Drax the Destroyer, made famous by James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy“. The report is short on the heels of the announcement that Gunn’s flick rocked the box office with over $500 million since its release on August 1.

The news that Bautista’s Drax is expected to appear in ‘The Avengers 3‘ is largely based on rumors suggesting that a “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Avengers” crossover flick is on the way (perhaps “The Avengers 3“?). Furthermore, Bautista’s contract is apparently being restructured to include the multi-picture deal consistent of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” and the “The Avengers 3”. Gunn also confirmed there were discussions for a Guardians and Avengers crossover pic.

He said:

“We talked about all sorts of possibilities [for a crossover] and I kind of know what the basic plan is. That could or could not include a couple of Avengers and a couple of Guardians meeting up, or all of the Avengers and all of the Guardians. But, we do inhabit the same universe and they’re pretty big personalities that are likely to, at some point or another, run into each other,”
