Will Ferrell and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith engaged in a drum-off on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. As many of you are aware, they can practically pass as twins and both artists share an exceptional talent for playing drums. The guys pulled out all the stops to prove their worth while donning matching outfits. The epic drum-off was filled with intense moves with each round of the friendly competition heating up with more complex drum arrangements and beats. Ferrell eventually pulled out a cowbell which was hidden, and started off the Blue Oyster Cult’s classic song “Don’t Fear the Reaper”, with the rest of the RHCP band members joining in with their respective instruments and vocals. The song and cowbell stint pays homage to Ferrell’s spoof when he was still a member of the “Saterday” team. Smith and Ferrell’s drum dance of destiny wasn’t just for our amusement. Ferrell was raising money for Cancer for College, while Smith was supporting Little Kids Rock.
