The number crunchers over at Nielsen assisted Twitter to release the names of the 10 Most Followed TV Shows on Twitter 2014-2015. They guys did a detailed overview of the traffic on TV Show Twitter accounts and made available the following information. ‘Empire’ is the most-tweeted about series episode while AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ is the top series premiere of the season. The two wildly popular TV shows are among the most-tweeted TV shows from September 1, 2014 through May 24, 2015.
“Empire” ranked in an impressive 627,000 tweets per episode, with the season finale grabbing the title as the most-tweeted TV series episode of the season with 2.4 million tweets and 5.9 million users. “The Walking Dead” smashed the opposition with a stellar premiere this season, raking in 7.4 million and 1.3 million tweets. The post-apocalyptic hit zombie series also managed to maintain an average of 4,305,000 fans in the list of top 10 entertainment shows on Twitter ranked by the number of unique audience. Last year’s results pinned Breaking Bad as the reigning king with 6 million tweets, followed by the ‘Walking Dead’ with 5,2 million.
ABC’s “The Bachelor” is growing in popularity, moving up two spot compared to last year and now occupies second place with 3,593,000 audience and 156,000 tweets per episode. HBO’s “Game of Thrones” moves up two spots in third place with 2,886,000 audience and an average of 107,000 tweets. FX’s “American Horror Story: Freak Show” and “Empire” round up the top 5.
