In a recent interview with Extratv.com, Jada Pinkett Smith spilled the beans about the future of her popular villainous character on Fox’s “Gothman”. Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Huge Spoilers for ‘Gotham’ Season 2

*SPOILER ALERT:

Will Smith‘s wife revealed that she will not be returning for the second season, she said:

“We’re done. I did my year and I had a good time,”

The actress also teases that we can expect an epic ending to the first season:

“The show is going to have an awesome finale!” “You never know what Fish might have up her sleeve.”

She also mentioned that she enjoyed being part of the debut season:

“I’ve always been a comic book fan,” “so it was definitely a dream to be able to participate in an origin story of Batman with an original character. Who would of thought in a million years that I would have the opportunity to do that?”

The fact that Smith will not be around for season 2 shouldn’t come as a huge surprise because her character doesn’t appear in the DC source comics.  Through “Fish” Mooney, Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) has been introduced, and for now, it seems she has fulfilled her purpose.

The American crime television series developed by Bruno Heller has received critical acclaim for its high production values, talented cast, and appealingly stylized approach to the Batman mythos. For those of you not in the know, the series is based on characters appearing in and published by DC Comics in their Batman franchise, primarily those of James Gordon and Bruce Wayne. The origin stories of several Batman villains are unfolded while exploring Gordon’s (played by Ben McKenzie) early days on the Gotham City police force. On January 17, 2015, the series was renewed for a second season.
