Call of Duty: Online is a PC game being released exclusively in China featuring Captain America himself, Chris Evans. Today the full version of that trailer has debuted online! Call of Duty Online has been in development for a number of years and in an open beta in China since 2014. The game will be free-to-play and will feature micro-transactions allowing customization of avatars and weapons including elements and characters from “Modern Warfare,” “Ghosts” and “Advanced Warefare.”
Other than some glaringly bad camera positioning, the trailer is fun. I looked at some gameplay footage, and it looks well made. If it’s successful in China, I wonder what the odds are for a worldwide rollout and localization. The full version of the game will be released on January 11.
