It was a sad day when Ridley Scott revealed that the famous Xenomorphs from his wildly popular “Alien” franchise will not be villainizing the hotly anticipated ‘Prometheus 2‘. Confirming that we will definitely have an Engineers centric sequel without the beloved Xenomorphs, GS mentioned that the silver lining might present a whole new Scott driven generation of movies filled with endless possibility and surprises. We also motioned that we are interested to see what kind of creatures the Engineers are hiding on their planet(s), and now it seems our dreams will be fulfilled. Scott assures horror geeks that we can expect a plethora of creepy ass creatures to shakeup the sequel. That’s right geeks, he is set to introduce a new species for the sequel after deciding to leave out our favorite Alien monster.

Ridley Scott Says ‘Prometheus 2’ Will Introduce New Species of Alien

The legendary helmer said in an interview with The Australian (via Dark Horizons) :

“The alien’s real which is why it’s probably one of the scariest monsters in film history,” “So with ‘Prometheus 2’ what I’m trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act.”

The plot is still under wraps and we still have no answers to explain the abrupt ending that left Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and David the android (Michael Fassbender) stranded on a god forsaken planet. The idea that “Prometheus” was indented as a soft reboot of the “Alien” franchise is a clear misdirect and/or misinterpretation. “Prometheus 2” writer Michael Green mentioned earlier this year that we can expect a movie “more “alien-y” and in line with the terrifying tone of past films in the franchise”. This sits well with Scott’s comment about the new beasties coming our way! I am becoming extremely excited for the sequel, any horror geeks out there preparing themselves for another Scott driven white-knuckle ride?
