Remember the days of red swimsuits, cheesy slow-motion running scenes on the beach, and ridiculously hot people saving ocean dwellers, all happening back in the 90’s? Let’s not forget to mention David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, by now everyone should know the description of the wildly popular action drama series about the Los Angeles County Lifeguards entitled, “Baywatch”. Fans of the series will be pleased to know that the “Baywatch” movie project is moving forward with Hollywood mega star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson attached as the star. That’s right geeks, there is a very good reason now to watch the big screen adaptation of the lifeguard series.

The Hollywood Reporter says that he’s “loosely attached” to star in the adaptation and Johnson himself confirmed the news by posting a picture on Instagram with the following captioned:

“This is my beach b***h!” “Rumors are true… we’re making #BAYWATCH the movie. Edgy, raunchy and hopefully, funny as all hell. Cue slo mo running on the beach… #WhoNeedsMouthToMouth #RedShortsBeHugginABrotha.”

The big screen version will be directed by Sean Anders and John Morris (“We’re the Millers“, “Horrible Bosses 2“),  with a script by Justin Malen. Details for the movie is still under wraps, but rumors suggest the movie would revolve around an oil rig explosion that turned out to be a meth lab.

Johnson can be seen next in “San Andreas“, and will reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in “Fast and Furious 7“. The buff star also recently confirmed he will be playing the superhero “Shazam!“.
