Ridley Scott’s next movie “The Martian” is reportedly looking to team up Kate Mara with Matt Damon in the space drama. “The Martian” tells the story of a stranded astronaut who needs to survive during challenging circumstances on Mars. We can’t blame Scott for tapping into the space craze going on right now. The highly sought after director is one of the pioneers of space travel cinema in Hollywood with his highly regarded releases for “Alien” and “Prometheus”.
Alfonso Cuarón’s “Gravity” hit more than a couple of home runs with multiple nominations and winning big rewards along the way. The critically acclaimed movie also paved the way for Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar”, set to be released on November 7, 2014. We should more than just a little exited that Matt Damon and Scott is involved in another huge space epic. “The Martian” is scripted by “The Cabin in the Woods” helmer Drew Goddard, and based on Andy Weir’s e-book of the same name. The film is set for a release in late November next year.
Mara can be seen next as Sue Storm a.k.a The Invisible Woman in “The Fantastic Four” reboot set to be released on August 7, 2015.
