DC’s “Legion of Superheroes” might be getting the big screen treatment according to a recent report by Latino-Review. The report claims that Warner Bros is in the process of “quietly sending out the DC comic book ‘Legion of Super-Heroes’ to screenwriters & their reps”. It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise (if true) that DC is considering their options to introduce their own brand of space travelling heroes after the huge box office take “Guardians of the Galaxy” have enjoyed.

Rumor: Warner Bros Interested to Develop ‘Legion of Superheroes’ Movie

Standing as one of the most successful underdog movies of all time, “Guardians of the Galaxy” should inspire studios to take more risks and spend more time to develop projects with all the ingredients noteworthy of our attention. DC is still in the process of putting together their cinematic universe and a “Legion of Superheroes” movie would be the exact thing needed to solidify their foundation. The only thing that might lead me to believe that this movie is not possible right now is the involvement of Superman. The Man of Steel is expected to appear in the Legion movie if the rumor is anything to go by. He is after all one of the key superheroes, but would there be another movie featuring Superman in the growing DC cinematic world? WB’s latest comic book movie “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is set to be released on March 25, 2016.

Come on DC, it’s time to spread those wings and explore!

Come on DC, it’s time to spread those wings and explore!

From a cinematic viewpoint, it seems that DC is continuously playing catch-up while Marvel sets the bar. Come on DC, it’s time to spread those wings and explore! DC is however making good strides to expand their small screen presence. The most recent development will see Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler adapt “Supergirl” to small screen. We can also expect “The Flash”, “Gotham” and “Constantine” to kickoff soon, and “Arrow” is returning for its third season. Marvel on the other hand is not too far behind with Netflix set to release “Daredevil”, “Jessica Jones”, “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage” in 2015.
