Bran Stark and Hodor’s epic journey will be halted for Game of Thrones‘ upcoming fifth season. [Spoiler Alert] The last time GOT geeks saw the duo, they managed to reach the three-eyed crow mentor in Bran’s visions. Kristian Nairn, who portrays Hodor revealed the news while speaking with the Australian Broadcasting Commission (via collider.com).

“We have a season off and we have a year’s hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books.”

He added:

“So, I get my year off now to do Rave of Thrones and gallivant all over the world,”

Referring to his DJ gig (yes he is also a DJ) where he throws “GOT”-themed parties?

In the context of the books, their absence will allow the other storylines to play catch-up while story creator George R. R. Martin completes (however painfully slow) the latest fantasy novel in the series titled “A Song of Ice and Fire”.

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” season 5 is currently in production to premiere in 2015.

Nairn is currently touring Australia with his “Rave of Thrones” style parties that feature everything from fire-breathing dragons to “Whitewalkers”. American diehard fans don’t despair, Nairn is bringing the “Rave of Thrones” to New York in October!
