The first official trailer for the Bigfoot found-footage horror “Exists” has been released for viewing pleasure. The found footage horror film from “Blair Witch Project” director Eduardo Sánchez and screenwriter Jamie Nash sold-out at the The South by Southwest (SXSW) festival. Horror fans have waited to see some footage since Lionsgate acquired the rights to release Bigfoot into North American theatres.
The trailer kicks off with the group of friends who set out on a road trip to spend some time in a secluded cabin in the woods — Isn’t it frustrating when most horror movies open with these exact lines. It seems that the concept of secluded cabins and horrible life threatening events and murder has not ringed true enough for some youngsters in Hollywood movies— If you guessed that everything goes horribly wrong shortly after their arrival you may stand a chance of winning a prize sponsored by captain obvious. That’s right geeks, they are not alone when they discover that Sasquatch is pretty pissed about their presence in his natural habitat.
Sánchez also recently contributed a segment to V/H/S/2 while Nash wrote the script. Despite the obviousness and predictability of the plot, seeing Sasquatch in all his horrific glory is something I have been looking forward for quite some time. The trailer is not half bad and seems like a whole lot of fun with found footage recordings.
Starring Chris Osborn, Dora Madison Burge and Roger Edwards, “Exists” is set to be released on October 24.
Check out the official synopsis for “Exists”:
“When brothers Brian and Matt Tover secretly sneak out to their Uncle’s long abandoned cabin in East Texas for a party weekend with their friends, they find themselves stalked by the legendary Sasquatch. Cut off from the world, and knowing help isn’t coming, the kids must try to make it out of the woods alive while hunted by a creature that’s smarter, stronger, and more terrifying than they would have ever believed exists.”
