American Horror Story: Freak Show” invites you to “Step right up, the show is about to begin …,” or so reads the caption of the video while extending the invitation with a creepy hand holding a ticket. Series co-creator Ryan Murphy tweeted a link to the video with the caption:

“Get your tickets now for the Freak Show. Coming in October.”

Any geeks out there feeling the air fill with creepy vibes and excitement for season four’s “Freak Show”? Hell yeah! The haunted house, scary asylum and a coven of witches that propelled the anthology series to cult status will face some serious competition from “Freak Show” as promised by Murphy previously.
The official description reads:

” ‘Freak Show’ begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.”

Sarah Paulson will be “duplicated” using a mix of practical physical effects make-up and CGI, to bring to live her character with two heads! She will take on the roles of Dot and Bettie, conjoined twins joining the freak show. Michael Chiklis will play a strong man who was married to Bassett’s character, and Lange will be playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S. Grammy-winning singer Patti LaBelle joined “Freakshow” recently as the mother of Gabourey Sidibe’s character. Murphy also recently hired the world’s smallest woman Jyoti Amge to officially join the cast ensemble.

The storyline is still kept under wraps, but we know at least that the “carnival” themed fourth season will be set in the 1950’s. Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy all play performers whom Lange’s character has rescued. Freak Show’s 13 episodes will track this group as they do anything to keep their business around. The “Freak Show” is heading our way this October on FX.
