It is something “Dexter” fans have been asking for a while now since the show’s disappointing ending, “Will we see Dexter’s Return?”. It is highly unlikely that the possibility exists even thought there were some speculation that a spin-off series is in the works. It is definitely confirmed that Michael C. Hall will not be able to reprise his role as the masterminded serial killer after reports earlier this week said that he has officially joined Stanley Kubrick’s unproduced drama “God Fearing Man”.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “God Fearing Man” will be produced by Entertainment One as an eight-part miniseries.  The site also shared some insight about the plot of the upcoming show and Hall’s character:

“God Fearing Man tells the true story of Canadian minister Herbert Emerson Wilson (Michael C. Hall), who went on to become one of the best safecrackers and most successful American bank robbers in the early 20th century.”

Hall will also executive produce the drama alongside Bill Kelman, which was first put into development as a potential series at independent studio Entertainment One in August 2012.

EOne Television executive Michael Rosenberg says,

“Kubrick’s ‘God Fearing Man’ presents a larger-than-life story with a complicated protagonist who undergoes a radical transformation. We knew we had to secure a leading man with the immense talent and charisma needed to carry the project, and we were dedicated to putting in the diligent time and effort to find the perfect fit.”

He continues commenting on Hall’s involvement:

“We cannot be more pleased to have Michael on board, who has time and again demonstrated an uncanny ability to portray captivating characters who must grapple with fundamental internal struggles.”
