The dawn of the Superhero females are upon us geeks and it’s about time! We have been begging to see a female superhero flick for years now and it seems that more than one female-centric superhero flick will heading our way. The most recent development involves Sony’s intentions by hiring Lisa Joy to pen a script for a female-driven superhero film, that is set to take place in Spidey’s universe. Spider-Man has a few females to choose from but it seems the Hollywood rumor machine has already shifted gears with some interesting names coming to the forefront.
Let’s have a quick look at the rumored names mentioned for the female-led superhero movie

“The Amazing Spider-Man 3” has officially been delayed for another two years with the release date set for 2018, to make way for the “The Sinister Six” movie which is now due in 2016. Can we expect another surprise with the introduction of a female-led superhero movie before the third installment is released? Yes please! Latest reports indicate that Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are already attached to produce the film.
It seems that the race is on for super hero females to make their mark on the big screen. DC is also working on a plan to see “Wonder Woman” making strides toward the silver screen. Gal Gadot is already signed on for Three Movies as the Amazonian warrior, starting with Zack Snyders “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” set to be released on April 28, 2016. Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow also joins the list as a possible project to see her take on baddies in a solo movie. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” female scribe Nicole Perlman also revealed recently that the studio will have a go at its first female-centric film. It might be Black Widow, but rumors earlier this year also suggest that “we will see an iteration of Captain Marvel onscreen by 2016 – either at the end of Phase Two or the beginning of Phase Three.”
Exciting stuff geeks, only good can come from this! Who would you like to see as a female lead in a superhero flick?
