Is the creator of “True Detective”, Nic Pizzolatto aiming to confuse fans of the anthology crime drama series or are we facing another vicious rumor? Pizzolatto previously revealed that the story set to take place in California will have three leads for the upcoming second season. He also mentioned that the second installment would focus on “hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system.” According to The Wrap, we can expect to see one male lead only. Anyone confused yet?

*Breaking news: Nic Pizzolatto Says ‘True Detective’ Season 2 Will Have “Four Central Roles”

The tweet posted by the entertainment site on Friday, June 27 reads:

The second season will not take place in Los Angeles, Pizzolatto mentioned in a previous interview that we can expect the crimes to take place “in much lesser known venues of California”.  He also said that they are “going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season one”. Season 2 will replace the cast and story, adopting a similar format employed by FX for its hit series “American Horror Story”.

Jessica Chastain was rumored to take on a role in the second season but the report was debunked. Metro also ran with a story that Brad Pitt has previously been linked to the show, as was rumored to be in talks to star back in March. No other casting announcements have been made, GS will keep you posted.
