“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is heating up for its release next month with the unveiling of a sneak peek that teases the opening battle. The clip was launched during last week’s MTV Movie Awards, which features a good look at the sentinels who are sent to hunt down the “X-Men”. We get to see Blink (Fan BingBing), Warpath (Booboo Stewart), Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page), Colossus (Daniel Cudmore), Sunspot (Adan Canto), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) and Bishop (Omar Sy) taking on Trask industries’ robotic creations.

Synopsis:

“The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.”

“Days of Future Past” will be based on X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s run. The story introduced the idea of an alternate future for the Marvel mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels. It will be up to our group of heroes to change the past in order to secure a better future. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are back as the young Professor X and Magneto with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen portraying their older versions respectively. Jennifer Lawrence returns as Mystique, Halle Berry as Storm, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Peter Dinklage portrays the scientist who creates the Sentinels.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is set to be released on May 23
