For those of you wondering about the title of the article, I am sure we have passed the April fools’ window here. Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub has officially joined the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” cast. Knoxville will voice the leader of the group Leonardo, and Shalhoub will assist to voice the Turtles’ sensei, Master Splinter. Leonardo was played by Pete Ploszek during the filming part, while Seinfeld‘s Danny Woodburn played Splinter. The three other Turtle were motion-captured by Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, and Jeremy Howard. Insiders told Mike Fleming Jr. from deadline.com that Paramount was “always open to changing the voicing component of the Jonathan Liebesman-directed film”.

Helmer Jonathan Liebesman is joined by Michael Bay as co-produces on the pic. William Fichtner takes on the role as the villainous Shredder, additional casting announcements are expected soon. The “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot is scheduled to be released on August 8.
