Robert Buckley has officially been cast as the lead character’s former fiancé in the DC Comics adaptation, “iZombie”. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Buckley “will portray Major, Liv’s former fiancé who is trying to transition back to being her friend despite still being in love with her. He’s a former college football player-turned-environmental engineer who is extremely likable.”
Buckley is supported by Malcolm Goodwin, Alexandra Krosney and David Anders. The studio is reportedly still looking for a female lead to take on the role as Liv. The project comes from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and “Mars” writer/producer, Diane Ruggiero.
“A med student-turned-zombie takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.”
